The sea salt symbolizes the resilience of enslaved people who refrained from its taste to preserve their dreams of returning to Africa. It represents the painful journey across the Atlantic, the tears shed during slavery, and the hopes for liberation. The mountain of 8,000 kilos of sea salt stands as a powerful reminder of suffering and aspiration. Through this work, I seek to honor the past while inspiring a vision for the future.
