 Acknowledge Rebuild – Wünderkammers of Rotterdam’s Colonial Past. was commissioned by  De Kunsthal in collaboration with Museum Boijmans van Beuningen. Together with Rosa te Velde we curated this ‘total installation’ consisting of five chambers representing an ego defense mechanisme. Prof. Dr. Gloria Wekker wrote five poems for every for every chamber.  The installation features works by emerging artists: Bouba Dola, Tommy van der Loo, Devika Chotoe, Ada M. Patterson and Domenique Latoul. Historical objects from various museum collections and archives of the city of Rotterdam are linked to contemporary artworks. In addition, family properties and personal stories of Rotterdam residents illustrate the legacy of the city's slavery history. This resulted in a surprising perspective on Rotterdams colonial past and its continued effects on our present-day lives.
